AUTOMANIA (MANIC MECHANIC)
(c)1984 Mikro-Gen
-----------------------

Aim of the game
---------------
You must help Wally Week build a series of cars.

Game play
---------
There are two basic screens. The first is the stock room -
Wally must collect the car parts one at a time and take them
through the door to the assembly plant. This is where the
finished car takes shape (and it looks very like a Citroen 2CV!).

Wally simply has to walk over the appropriate area of the vehicle
with his carried part and that part is added to the car. Then
it's back to the stock room again.

The game is, as usual, made more difficult by the various
hazards, which include robots, runaway tyres and falling air
cooling blades. Fortunately, Wally can jump over these. As well
as this the gantries in the stock room keep moving in and out
and there are also various bonuses such as oil cans and teapots,
scattered around.

In all, there are 10 levels. Once Wally has finished building
a car, it is driven away and he must start building a new model.
The further you get, the harder it gets...

Inlay Card Text:
------------------
Welcome to the world of Wally Week.

O.K. Wally try and get it right this time! All you have to do is
get these car parts from the store, take them to the assembly
area and put 'em together. Simple, INNIT?

If you had bought decent shelving units things wouldn't keep
falling off, would they Wally, and if the gangplanks seem to have
a mind of their own it's 'cause you're a Wally, Wally. If you
put things back in their right places you wouldn't have to jump
over them to get what you want. With your flat hat, beer belly
and oversize boots you really are a Wally, Wally.

You as Wally Week have ten cars to build, each consisting of 6
parts. You will begin in the store area with tyres bouncing
around to hit you. You must go to the stock room, identify the
parts required, and go up the ladders to each level to collect
them (moving over the part will collect it). The gangplanks are
none too safe and you must jump the gaps to reach the relevant
parts. There are various items strewn on the floors which again
have to be jumped over. These appear in different places on the
screen, so the game is a constant challenge.

You will then return to the assembly area to place the parts in
their correct positions on the car, but to deposit the upper
parts of the car (e.g. windscreen, roof etc) you will have to
jump when in the correct position.

Upon loading you are faced with a menu screen on which you will
see: (C64 version)

Key 1 Music On
Key 2 Music Off
Key 3 Joystick
Key 4 Demonstration Mode
Key 5 Define your own Keys

The program automatically sets

Q-UP O-LEFT M-JUMP
A-DOWN P-RIGHT

and these will stay unless any other is chosen.

The demonstration mode will show you what you will encounter
in the game, and will continue until you press any key to return
to the menu screen.

You will start with 3 lives and gain an extra life for each car
you complete. However, you can also have a time limit on each
car part and will lose a life if you exceed this limit.

Right Wally, away you go!!
